My CPAP 101 course is here

Hey, sleep warriors. Today is an exciting day. I am finally ready to launch my CPAP 101 Start Here course and begin my weekly live sleep coaching, which I've named the Huddle.

I have been developing these programs for over nine months, and the day is finally here. Can you tell that I'm excited?

When I tell a patient that they have sleep apnea, I'm often met with a wide-eyed stare. And while people are often happy and relieved to know there's a reason why they feel so lousy during the day, they're also quite skeptical about the gold-standard treatment, of a CPAP machine.

So, CPAP, or continuous positive airway pressure, is a mask that's secured to your face, and it blows a constant stream of air into the back of your throat, letting people breathe more easily during sleep.

And while it can be a lifesaving treatment, people are often skeptical that they can tolerate it. And in fact, over one-third of patients with sleep apnea stop using their machines or never bother to start.  But the health effects of untreated sleep apnea can be serious. Daytime symptoms include things like being tired, irritable and having problems with concentration and memory, and longer-term problems include things like high blood pressure, heart attacks, dementia, even erectile dysfunction, and low libido.

So why is it that so many people give up on this lifesaving treatment? Well, one thing I have learned in my nearly 20 years of treating patients with sleep apnea is that patients that are educated and supported do better than those who aren't. And with more and more people needing to be on CPAP, sleep medicine clinics, and medical equipment companies, they're having a hard time keeping up.

There is a lot to learn, and people may feel overwhelmed and be tempted to give up. So, over the past year, I have decided to try to solve this problem by coming out of the clinic and into the online space where I can meet patients where they are at home.

So I was tired of the scattered misinformation that was available online, and I wanted to create something that would provide step-by-step, simple instructions in one place.

Now, nine months later, I am so excited to launch my CPAP 101 Start Here course. And because additional questions always come up, I'm including four weeks of access to my new live group coaching and Q and A sessions that I've named the Huddle.

So whether you are just getting started with a CPAP machine, still waiting for your CPAP machine to arrive, or experiencing issues with your current CPAP machine, I know you will benefit from my CPAP 101 course.

If you're already doing amazingly but just have some questions, well, you can sign up to be a part of the Huddle where you can just receive answers to your individual questions or receive personalized coaching. Of course, if groups aren't your thing, and we also have one-to-one coaching that's available, there is truly something for everyone.

So thanks for being here this week. I look forward to meeting you.
